The mud in the beak and head tells a story. When kingfishers dive, their eye is protected by the nictitating membrane. It also acts as a polarizing lens so that the kingfisher can find out the correct location of the fish within water. So rarely kingfishers miss their prey.
Such a colourful bird. The composition looks nice. This image reminds me of Sundarban trip just before the lockdown. We have to wait till Gods are willing to let us there again.
