Pelican launches Rugged Lens covers
Protective gear manufacturer Pelican has launched a range of new products in its Outdoor series like sleeping pads, blankets etc. Pelican has launched an interesting rugged lens covers made of silicone.
Pelican says that these rugged lens covers fits most pro lenses from 67 to 120 mm circumference. It has column structure to absorb impact. Having seen several of my lenses fall down in the field, I am always keen on getting some kind of protection for the lenses. When you are in the wilds, far away from the service centre, any inadvertent fall or bump to your lens can be a significant danger for the shoot. For creating this product, Pelican has tied up with CM Brands.
Even while travelling in flight, it would be easier to pack the lenses with these covers so that the heavier padding can be dispensed with to save weight. At $24.99 US Dollars, this may find many takers.
