ID: Common Silverline Butterfly

One of the best Silverline I have encountered, this beauty was busy feasting on the Silver Cock’s comb flower, and so busy in it that it wasn’t much bothered by me approaching it for framing the beauty. One of the peculiar deceiving elements that these winged angles possess are the false eyes at the tip of its wings, along with extensions that mimic the antenna, this frame tried to frame the same from the hind side, highlighting the pattern of the eyes on the feathery tail of the wings. A good way to fool the predator to target its tail ends rather than the eyes, possibly giving it ample chance to survive an attack. Such defense mechanism is also being showcased by few more butterflies, probably with the same intentions

Nature's way to protect :). Good details. I feel a vertical composition would have also looked good here. Thanks for sharing.

This is very interesting. I agree that a vertical composition would have been better. Thanks for sharing.
