While in Pokhri in Chamoli(2019) our caretaker told us that a king cobra had crossed within the campus of the homestay a couple of days back and that it may be worthwhile trying to look for it in the nearby jungle. So off we went trying to be as cautious as we could be as we didn't really want to bump into the hamadryad in close quarters. Try as we did for a few hours, we did not find the snake but found more birds. During our way back we saw this scaly thrush trying to find out who had disturbed its peace and tranquility. After a few pics we quietly walked away leaving it to its thoughts. This image was made that day.

Such a cute fellow. Good that you got this even though there was no sighting of a king cobra. A slightly more side on profile would have been even nice. Thanks for sharing.

It is so nicely camouflaged against the bark of the tree. The leaves frame it well. Good you ventured into the jungle and could photograph more birds :). Look forward to more. Thanks for sharing.
