Tigress approaching waterhole

A lovely sight to see a tigress which had just delivered mebbe lesser than week ago.
On world tiger day!Even though the light was low and against,tks to my new 300 mm F2.8 tokina,I managed a decent shot!Critique pls!!ps.I shoot manual setting and AF,with a D 80 nikon.Handheld.

Nice image. I like the diagonal position of the tiger. The eye contact is lovely. The texture in the mud bank has come out nicely. Some more space at the top to show the grasses would have been good. What was the shutter speed, aperture and ISO? Look forward to other compositions from this series. Do you have a composition showing the tiger at top and water at the bottom of the bund?

Lovely image. Liked the way it is coming to the water. Seems it just spotted you, nice eye contact. Wish the piece of cloth on the left was not present. Agree about some more space on left and top.
