Hoopoe on the ground!

As usual we saw this Hoopoe rollicking on the ground at Kabini!

Nice to see it feeding on the ground. Good that the eye is in clear. I had seen it quite close in Bharatpur, feeding near a tea stall on the lawn, so I could lie on the ground and get close to it. Otherwise it becomes difficult to get close to it. Nice capture. Thanks for sharing.

We get some great hoopoe shots in bharatpur as they come down to the ground near the tea stall. Lying down in belly on the ground gives a very nice ground level perspective. The background becomes infinity and hence out of focus and head stands out. In this case you were shooting down from an angle, so you will always get the background in focus. So there would be a lot of distracting elements. If you are roaming around the Kabini JLR campus, then you can find them. You just need to be patient. Thanks for sharing.
