Nice alert pose from the animal.They look like the Steenbokes from Africa!They I think like the Steenbokes roam around alone.We seldom see them in herds.Must be favourite of the Leopards there!

Beautiful eyes. The raised ears show how alert it is. They were introduced as natural prey for the leopards. It seems their numbers are increasing, which is a good sign for the leopards, so they will stop hunting the cattle in the villages. The greenery around adds to the composition. Lovely capture. Nice to see this. Chinkaras were introduced in 2012 in an enclosure near the Jawai dam. They want to augment the wild prey base. Their numbers have to increase significantly to satisfy the food requirements of Leopards. Other prey species too need to be introduced and habitat made more conducive. Thanks for sharing.

Apropos of my posting dated 10 Feb 22, I may add:
Chinkara is the only Indian antelope whose females also carry short thin horns.The horns of the young in the photograph are still developing, I cannot convincingly say whether it is a male or female young.
