Hog Deers are small deers found in grasslands of the India Gangetic plain. They are very shy and run away on slightest disturbance. We saw quite a no of them during our visit to Dhikala (Found only only Dhikala's grasslands). On many times before I could list my camera they were off!

I like the feel of this image. It is not facing you but it is slightly turned and the eye is visible. Seems it was about to enter into the tall grass on the right. Good to know you were able to sight quite a few of them in Dhikala. Thanks for sharing.

I am sure there would be better luck next time. You can also get fairly decent sightings of them in Kaziranga. Thanks for sharing.

Nice. Its shorter legs, stout rump and lowered forequarters give it a pig like appearance.
