Gee thanks Sabyasachi...:D
It is a first step for me. I felt good that these guys appreciated my image. The theme of the competition was "Coexistence of man and wildlife in Orissa". The theme borders dangerously on the terms coexistence and conflict. So it was a relevant theme. My image was based on the human interactions/conflicts between man and the Olive Ridley in the coasts of Orissa.

A lot of the credit goes to Indiawilds without a shadow of doubt. I have been a sincere part of Indiawilds and my small journey through photography started right here in these forums last December. Right from the basics to a few of the advanced concepts and techniques that I know now have been dug up mostly from this site... :)
Sabyasachi has been a mentor all through, pushing me to do better with each click, and forcing me to think and conceptualise an image before reaching for the shutter button. Of course I have had immense help from other members as well. Mrudul, Apana, Kiran all have been awesome sources of inspiration.

I have always had a passion for wildlife, but to present it properly was what I learnt, after I learnt photography. It is essential to be represent the state of affairs of wildlife (good or Bad) for it to have its impact and what better way to do it than Photography. Agree videography shows more, but pictures lead us to think, to interpret. That is the beauty of photography. What I learnt in these few months is that if someone has the drive, the passion and the will to learn it, its easy, or should i put it 'not as difficult as perceived'.

This award was definitely a welcome surprise for me. But then again, I'm happy :D
Well if had to do it Oscar style... This award is dedicated to Indiawilds... :)

Thanks a lot Guys... really appreciate all the support...

Bibhav - Hearty Congratulations! on this wonderful achievement. I am sure you will win many more such awards in future too, I agree with you that this forum @ IndiaWilds provides an opportunity to youngsters like you and others, ofcours oldies :) like me too are quite excited to learn and understand from you guys. I have no words to express on the efforts put in by Sabyasachi to make this site so informative and its a matter of time that there will soon be an award of appreciation to India Wilds as well. And all credit to you guys Sabyasachi, Bibhav, Mrudul and other members who have created lot of excitement in most of the beginers to register here.

I personal had not registered with any such sites until 1st week of Sept'09, Vijay Cavale asked me to register with their site Indianaturewatch.net. After registering there within 2 days or so I received an email from Mrudul to register with India Wilds and I must thank Mrudul for inviting me here else I would have missed something important in life.

INW too is a good forum but I personally feel that I am able to learn, pick up some skills in photography with India Wilds and I feel many members are of the same opinion.

Once again Bibhav Many Congratulations to you, kindly share the pictures of the award function & the photograph that won you this award.

Well Done!

Best wishes,
Praveen Siddannavar

Well done Bibhav.

Keep continuing your good work and document more conservation issues which will be very handy during times of need.

We have innumerable places due to lack of proper documentation.
