Shot this Plum Headed Parakeet (female) at Kabini over the weekend. Normally I sight parakeets flying or high up on trees, but this was unusual the female was on the ground for quite sometime and feeding junk grass.

Nice. It seems it is eating parthenium. The focus appears to be slightly ahead of the parakeet on the leaf. However, the f5.6 aperture ensures that the parakeet is nearly covered by the depth of field. The head is twisted away from you, else eye contact would have been great.

Nice image. Quite difficult to spot it in the green. Photographing parakeets is quite difficult. Its good that you got most of the bird in clear. Agree with the above comment.
