After reading the camera manual for almost a week (during bedtime), finally, I felt it's time to pick up camera and to shoot something. And the only thing which I could find around my house was this squirrel. I used the Sports mode and haven't use other setting. I just cropped the image and no post-processing.

I'm still a newbie, and any inputs and suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Thanks,
Vijay

Hi Vijay,

Welcome to IndiaWilds. Nice image. Its good that you got the eye in the clear.

Do post the details of the camera and lens you are using, so we get an idea what equipment you are using. To start with you can try photographing in the Av mode (aperture priority). You can check this thread in the tips section, which will help you to know more about the basic settings in photography.

Do keep experimenting. Keep posting.

Thanks Mrudul!

I read about the P,A,S,M, modes last night and then realized what more I can do with the camera. The link you gave is also very informative.

I'm using a Nikon D90 and used the Nikon 55-200mm VR lens for the above shot.

Thanks again for the inputs.

Cheers,
Vijay

Vijay,
The image is a bit dark. Needs to be a bit more brighter. It is good that the face didn't get obstructed by the branches. Keep asking question whenever you have doubts.
