Elephant Herd

Shot this in Bandipur last weekend, actually there is a calf in between the two elephants, it was nice to see the cow elephants hiding/protecting the calf as soon we arrived the spot. We did experience a few mock charge.

I would recommend increasing the contrast slightly. The calf seems to be around 2 years old, but still being shielded by the mother. Because of their physical bulk, when elephants try to shield their offspring, it becomes difficult to sight.

Nice enviornment photograph. Its quite difficult to photograph a calf, mostly it hides behind the mother. With a higher shutter speed you could have got the trunk in focus. Thanks for sharing.

A nice environment image. I wish that the calf were visible, but this image shows how cows are protective of their calves. Agree that a boost in contrast would help.
