For past few days watching wild dog chase/kill actions, I am tempted to post my images shot in Aug'09 at Bandipur, the location is same as witnessed by Sabysachi it is called as Tavare Katte. Off late lot of sightings and action is happening here so in your next visit make it a point to spend some time here:)

The image posted tells the story of the Alpha male chasing the spotted deer

That is a nice image. I would tone down the bright highlights of the splash a bit. A higher aperture would have been nice.

PS: If im not wrong Dholes have a matriarchal society. Someone correct me please if i am wrong.

Praveen,
This was a fabulous sighting. The difference here is that the cheetal fawn being short in height, had to swim and tire easily. The dholes know that. Where as in the case of the Sambars, the dholes would have tired had they entered water. Unlike humans, they don't waste their energy. :D

Bibhav,
Hyena has got matriarchial society. Not dholes.

Cheers,
Sabyasachi
