Rahul,
This is actually a very good move. This was reported last month. You can find further details in the thread titled Abolish Zoos.

The next step is to ban elephants in temples. Most of the times they endure miserable treatment.

Cheers,
Sabyasachi

Hi Sabyasachi,

Thank you so much for this link. Very interesting reading. I was away from this conservation thread for a long time... :(

OMG! I'm unaware of this month old but great news. What a Pity, but I'm so happy & delighted with this step. Its a big step to implement but am glad Born Free and many other Conservation groups must be ready to help these beautiful creature to live in the wild to feel the wind of freedom... :)

Yes, I really don't understand why Temples keep continue those old traditions to keep elephants. Specially Southern Indian Temples having so many of them...Really very Bad thinking in the Modern times...Every creature has right to live freely and happily...This is what every religion said...and In Hinduism we keep elephants in captivity for their entire life...This is against the True Worship of GOD...

Agree with you Sabyasachi...Temples should be included in the list along with Circuses...

Thank you all my friend to share your words on previous 'Freedom of Elephant' link. Its lovely reading...

Bless you all,

Best wishes,

Cheers, Rahul
