I would like a crop from the bottom to eliminate the brick or rock lying at the bottom of the frame. It would have been better if you tried panning your camera.
The trick is either you catch it using a higher shutter speed or else, you pan.

The action of the deer amazes me. It must have been beautiful seeing the deer do such elegant hop. Sabyasachi mentioned about a high shutter speed. I am wondering if a slower shutter speed would have created much more dramatic effect...with the entire curve of the jump being captured?

The slower shutter speed for panning would have been achieved by just increasing the aperture to f8 or higher. You can check the tips section for tips on panning technique.

Lovely action captured here , Rajan. I find the light a bit harsh here ( maybe it is my monitor) . Agree on the crop with SP.
