This image is a classic example of tourists touching the Endangered Nilgiri Tahr at Eravikulam NP near Munnar, Kerala. It is not advisable to go near and touch such wild endangered species. The Tahr might get infected and possibly go extinct in wild. Sign boards and Forest department are helpless in this act.

The image coveys the message aptly. People are unaware that touching the wild animals (Deers or Tahr) or feeding monkeys might harm them. Thanks for sharing.

It is indeed sad that people consider and treat these animals as pets or inmates of a zoo. Human touch to young animals often leads to mothers abandoning their young ones. One should refrain from such activities, and it is our moral duty to stop such people from these activities.

Unhealthy tourism exposes our wildlife at risk in numerous forms.

It is said that the tahr in Eravikulam are so accustomed, that people, if intended can even lift a few and load in their vehicles and go...

Our tourists and general public for that matter are too alien and insensitive to understand biodiversity, eco-system, wildlife etc. All they long for is recreation..or rather entertainment.
