Nice shot. I like the compo. The eye is sharp, and has a lovely catchlight. Can almost feel the texture of the feathers :). However the DOF seems inadequate to cover the wing tips and underparts.
TFS, look forward to more.

That is a close shot considering it is full frame. Would have liked a bit more space on the right and top. The sharpness is nice. Thanks for sharing.

Liked the diagonal composition. The eye contact is great. A narrower aperture would have enhanced the image further. Look forward to more.

It is great that you could get a full frame at 300mm. I like the eye contact. I agree that a higher depth of field would have been great. However, I don't think you could have done it without raising the ISO, as sacrificing shutter speed is not a good idea, especially for an agile bird like this. You can use ISO 400, ofcourse you have to ensure that the image is correctly exposed. Pulling up the exposure later will give you more noise.

Overall, this is a nice image.
