Shot this Sandpiper this evening at Hessarghatta along with Mrudul and Anu.

Hi Praveen,
It is a Wood Sandpiper. Nice eye contact. There is some noise in the image. A narrow aperture would have been better to get the whole bird in focus.

Eye contact is fine. I think this is a big crop. In case you are cropping big, it is better to use a lower ISO to minimise noise/ grains in the image. It is not easy to chase these people and click. Waiting at a place by lying down on the ground will result in better chances in clicking it.

I agree with Mrudul regarding the ID and the narrower aperture required.
