I created this sunset image in Telineelapuram - a wetland of immense ecological importance. This place was to give way to a Thermal Power Plant, the construction of which was in full swing without obtaining the environment clearance. Fortunately, the promoters have been asked to shift their project to a place far from the wetlands. No idea how far will be the new site.

Canon EOS 40D, Canon EF 28-135mm f3.5-5.6 IS lens, ISO 400, f10, 1/320 seconds, handheld, full frame.

You can see the powerlines in the distance. Knowingly I composed to include it. What do you feel? Look forward to your comments.

I've heard a lot about this place, don't know when I'll visit it... the closest I've come to visiting it was when I saw my first Painted Stork years ago- I was on my way to Vizag on a train, and shortly after crossing Naupada junction I saw the bird in a paddy field, it was a lone bird and I wondered if one could have strayed down so far south from Chilika! Of course, now I know that it had most probably wandered from Telineelapuram. Will surely visit the place this winter (or are the monsoons a better time, with the birds nesting?)

Do keep us updated with the goings of the PIL.

Cheers,
Aditya
