I photographed this in Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary in the Morigaon district of Assam, hardly 70kms from Guwahati. Through this photograph I have tried to show the habitat of both the species which is alike. Taken in 2008 around 4:30 pm.

Aperture: f/7.1
Exposure: 0.005 sec (1/200)
Focal Length: 55 mm
ISO Speed: 200
Lens Nikkor 18-55mm
Nikon D80

Nice habitat photograph. The huge herd with calves and the rhino in the background gives a natural feel of jungle. Wigh the herd was moving towards you. You photographed from elephant back? Thanks for sharing.

Nice image. I like the lone rhino in the image. Would have been nice if the buffaloes were facing in your direction.

Yes Mrudul you are I photographed this from the elephant back and the Buffalos were wallowing in the mud and when the elephants approached closer they moved towards the Rhino. I liked this photograph because they were looking away from me, at times I find such photographs appealing as they have a natural feeling to it just the way the eye gets to see.

Plenty of grass for Rhinos and Buffaloes. I like the Rhino stand and watch in the green. TFS this photo. :001_smile:
