Nice eye contact. I wish the tree in front was not present. Some more space on top and below would have been good. Seems it was quite close. So it is quite difficult to compose in this situation. Maybe a vertical composition would have helped. A lower ISO would have possibly helped to reduce the noise. Thanks for sharing.

Vishwanath,
The eye contact is fine.
It is always better to compose long legged birds in the vertical orientation. If you would have composed in vertical, then you would have got some more space.
The composition would have improved if you could have composed with the heron more to the left of the frame. At the moment, the space behind the heron on the left (negative space) doesn't add to the image. It would have been great if the heron would have been looking towards the left instead of right.
Also, our eye tends to move in the direction the bird or animal is looking. In this case, just infront of the heron ie. to the right is the tree. That acts as a visual block and stops our eye from moving to the right. Please remember, we learn more from the images that are not so successful.
Thanks for sharing.
Cheers,

This is nice. More space overall and more brightness would have strengthened the image. Thanks for sharing.
