Nice shot, I like the portrayal of the habitat. The bird is sharp, eye contact is lovely. The BG blur is simply awesome! Was this shot hand held or mounted on your monopod?

It looks like a White-Browed Bulbul Pycnonotus luteolus. Found in dry country throughout the peninsula south of MP.

P.S. I use a Salim Ali ed.13, and I think Grimett-Inskipp lists a number of bulbul species that look similar to this one. So would be wise to wait for confirmation from a Grimett user...

This is a White-browed Bulbul :pycnonotus luteolus.Aprox size is 20 cm.resident bird of India.

Description:White super cilium and crescent below eye.Dark eye stripe and moustachial stripe.

Habitat: Dry scrub and Forest edges.

About the Shot:It came out good Bivab. I would have rather given little contrast and played with the shadow highlights.

Nice composition. Liked the perch and the eye contact. Some more contrast would have been good. Thanks for sharing.

My daughter once posted a shot of the White Browed Bulbul. Are both these the same ? I thought they look a bit different ? Maybe the experts can throw more light on this. I'm posting the link to my daughter's post earlier . . .
