This is the culmination of the Solar Eclipse view from Chennai. (I have the whole series from the start, which i shot every 10 minutes).

400D, Canon 100-400 L Series, 1.4 TX, F29, 1/4000, ISO 100, UV filter

Did you shoot through some film/darkened glass?

Yes, I used a UV filter with a dark tint (done by cutting a 3M paper to the size of the filter -those films used for car windshields ).
