These Mother and Baby Lion-tailed Macaques were taken near Valparai in Anamalais. Normally shy animals can be seen approaching the humans here. These arboreal living primates are on the ground due to highway road breaking the canopy cover.
The Lion-tailed Macaque (Macaca silenus) ranks among the rarest and most threatened primates and listed as Endangered in IUCN.
