These Mother and Baby Lion-tailed Macaques were taken near Valparai in Anamalais. Normally shy animals can be seen approaching the humans here. These arboreal living primates are on the ground due to highway road breaking the canopy cover.

The Lion-tailed Macaque (Macaca silenus) ranks among the rarest and most threatened primates and listed as Endangered in IUCN.

The image is nice. I like the intimate pose. Wish the other eye of the baby were more visible. But i like the way it emerges from the fur. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful expressions. They look very insecure, as their home is lost. I liked the pose and the low angle. The details are nice. Thanks for sharing the information.

Nice moment. I like the expressions. Good to see an image of Lion tailed Macaque. Habitat destruction is a major threat for them.

Cheers,
Sabyasachi
