Rufous Tailed Lark (Rufous Tailed Finch-Lark according to Salim Ali books) Ammomanes phoenicurus.
Photographed this at LRK in November last year.

Info from Salim Ali ed. 13:
The rufous-brown colour and bright rufous tail ending in a black band are diagnostic of the sps. Affects open, stony scrub-and-bush country, ploughed fields, fallow land and cultivation. Zigzags on the ground in short spurts picking up grains and insect food. Stampedes insects out of hiding in the unevennesses on the ground by rapidly flicking open its wings.

Camera Model Name Canon PowerShot SX10 IS

There seems to be a loss of detail. I also feel the bird needs a tad more sharpening. The problem here is that the beak is a little lost against the background.

Lovely eye contact. Liked the perch and the colours. It gets nicely camouflaged in the surroundings. Thanks for the information.

Lovely bird. I agree that there is loss of details. Were you handholding? You have to wait for the right moment when it pauses and then click. A slight movement of the head will ruin the image. The details about the bird is appreciated. Thanks for sharing.
