I photographed this in Bharatpur.

Canon EOS 50D, Canon EF 400mm f2.8 L IS USM, EF 2xII, ISO 200, f5.6, 1/250 sec. Full frame image.

Lovely image , SP. Just to nitpik, I would have cloned the twig on the right and ditto the leaf on the left.

You are bang on target regarding the leaves and the branch.

However, I don't clone. My principle is simple. If in nature, I am not going to break a branch to get a clear view of the nest, then in post processing I am not going to do so. I don't like altering. So I just do colour, contrast, levels. Though Lightroom 2 offers cloning and much more, I don't do those.

So I tried my best to minimise the clutter while photographing. You can see a little bit of feathers also got cropped on the left side, as I tried to avoid the leaves and branches on the left. I knew it was not possible to get some separation between the bird and the clutter. Since, I don't do much of bird photography, I decided to photograph it. Don't know when I will photograph this species again. Lets hope soon.
