A common bird accross India, but charming nevertheless....mid afternoon, Dehradun. May 2009

Nice image, seems a tiny fellow. The open beak is a plus. Shooting against sky is always a challenge.

Good that you got this bird with its beak open. REducing the sky highlights would be better. Going High Key (Bird with white background) here could have been an option had there not been out of focus distractions. Thanks for sharing.

The open beak is a big plus. You timed it nicely. If you could have increased the ISO to 200, you would have got a higher shutter speed. That would have strengthened the image. These birds are common as comared to others, however creating a nice image is not easy as they move fast. Thanks for sharing.

Lovely bird. The eye contact and the open big is nice. You could have tried a vertical composition as well. Thanks for sharing.
