There is a strange red thing on the wing of the butterfly on the left... wondering whether it is a parasite of some sort

Thank, C&C welcome.

Wonderful image Abhishek. The red Thing does look like a mite. Have seen mites on grass hoppers and other insects , never on butterflies...

Abhishek,
This is a nice record. Did the mite remain on the butterfly for long? The image would look better without the red portion on the top right. Thanks for sharing.

Cheers,

Thanks,
Vikram : Same here, seeing a mite on a butterfly for the 1st time.

Sabyasachi : These butterflies are quite small, so I didn't notice the mite while photographing. Saw it only after getting home, reviewing and cropping the image. So I don't know how long it remained on the butterfly. Agree about excluding the BG flowers on the top right.

Nice behaviour captured. It is good you got them in the open without any distractions in the FG. The diagonal composition is nice. Thanks for sharing.
