A resting river tern. Highly volatile defending its territory, it took to dive bombing us, even though we were quite a distance away.

I like the low angle, the pose and the habitat depiction. Would like some more space around and a bit more sharpening. Thanks for sharing.

I think that it is the nest. So it got alarmed when you were around and started calling and attacking.

The eye contact and the low angle is nice. I agree some more sharpness would have been good. The open beak is a plus. Thanks for sharing.

The low perspective is nice. Some more sharpness would be better. Hope it wasn't nesting as it does look alarmed. :)
Thanks for sharing.

Nope, made sure with the binocs and spotters that there were no nests. The naturalist confirmed it was Resting and hence we moved the boat a lil closer to have a go with the snaps.

In fact, on reaching a little closer, we spotted a line of nests on the far side of the colony and we (naturalist & my family) explicitly requested the boatman to stay clear of those areas not only on our trip, but on the others as well. There were other tourists on the boat who were keen on a closer shot (with their little PNS's) and did not like our requests, but then, the naturalists were firm and we had our way . . . . .
