Quite a 'noisy' photo, but light was too bad, didn't want to push the ISO any further.

EOs 40D + EF400mm f5.6L, handheld.

I like the composition. Since the light was low critiquing the noise and sharpness wouldn't be justified. :)
Is this a crop?

A very beautiful bird. Would love to make a trip to Eaglenest in the near future.

It is better to use a higher ISO and get a sharp image with noise rather than using a low ISO, less noisy but unsharp image.

Eye contact is fine. Hope next time you can find better light.
