This tigress was trying to stalk a deer which was down the slope and not visible to us. After a while she gave up and turned back. I thought of creating an environmental portrait here, so used the 24-105 lens.

Canon EOS 1D Mark IV, Canon EF 24-105 F4 L IS USM at 32 mm, f9, ISO 100, 1/160, full frame image. Subject distance 11.9 meters.

Cheers,
Sabyasachi

PS: I am not sure what should be an appropriate title for this image.

Peek-a-boo?
I like the environment portrayal. The cactii look good too. The Tiger is well camouflaged. Wish it were in slightly more light. Thanks for sharing. Did you shoot this in video as well?

Nice image, gives a sense of the dry deciduous forest and existing fauna with the stalking tiger

Nice. I like the environment portrayal. Agree that a little more light on the tiger would have drawn more attention to it. But still a lovely image.
Title: "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Deer"... :p

Praveen,
The tiger was close. The exif details shows that it was 11.9 meters away. At 100 mm, it was appearing big in the frame and the cactus etc were getting excluded. So I used 32mm to give a complete picture of the landscape.

Cheers,
Sabyasachi
