This male Tahr feeds on these grass which are available aplenty.There are less no.of Male Tahrs than there are females.The Eravavkulam NP is only one of its kind in India.....

I agree with Praveen. It is better to see the habitat, so that one understands the inter-relationship. When I started photography, I used to strive for closeups (even now I do to get unique angles). However, when i was showing a close up of a tiger, an innocuous question stumped me. I was asked if the image was from a zoo. Hence, this is one more reason to show the habitat.

When using a wide angle lens/ intermediate lens to create an environmental image, it is better to ensure that the image is sharp and the depth of field covers the subject. Else, while creating a large print, you will face problem.

Nice environment photograph. The eye contact is nice. Some more sharpness would have enhanced the composition further. Thanks for sharing the information, it surely helps to know the Niligiri Tahrs better.

I use Zoombrowser to sharpen the images and then open it in Photoshop to make the other changes.The photos seem to be losing their sharpness when opened in Photoshop.The same image looks sharper when viewed in Zoombrowser.I dont know whether this is in order?

Zoombrowser is basically for viewing. Don't edit using zoombrowser. Use DPP (Digital Photo professional) that would have come along with the camera in the CD.

I use Lightroom as it is complete image editing and cataloguing software.
