Dholes are excellent swimmers, this is one way of killing the prey. Death comes to deer by shock,exhaustion & drowning.

Good one. It shows that the dhole is on top and forcing the deer to drown. For dholes this process is easy when the prey is a deer. With Sambar's it becomes difficult, as the height of Sambar is more than the dhole. So dhole has to spend energy in swimming, while the Sambar will be wading through water. Their tactics vary according to prey. Thanks for sharing.
