The exposure seems ok to me. It is always difficult to get the eye to stand out in backlit situations. I like the composition and the reflection adds to the image.
Which lake was this?
I'm in Mysore as well. Might want to check out this place sometime.

The details are nice. The reflection has come out well. The light seems to be from the right. Thanks for sharing.

It becomes difficult due to the bright whites in the feathers. Soft light would be ideal.
