Looking at this beautiful pic I wonder in what situations such a tight crop works? Is it normally acceptable to crop out parts of the body or this should be reserved only for few cases?

Udai,
One can create tight compositions and exclude parts of the body. Obviously, it wont be useful for biology books or places that need to show an animal or bird in full. A composition, whether it is extreme closeup or a full body shot, should first be aesthetically pleasing.

I try to show the animals and birds in a new perspective. Ofcourse, all the images are full frame and not cropped in a computer. When I saw this image later, I could not believe that it is a sparrow. It was actually more of testing my handholding skills with a long lens.
