Tiger! - Bandipur Beauty Series#1

Shot this female tiger named Gauri (by JLR folks) aged 7 years at 6:15pm on 21st aug'10 (Saturday) at Kadamattur Katte, Bandipur. Light was low the sighting happened all of a sudden I didn't have the time to change the settings. This tiger made a Gaur kill on Thursday and was seen around this area. Good news is that she is carrying and will litter in few months time.

She was quite close when we spotted, unfortunately I had only carried the 500mm lens, used the minimum 4.5m switch, image is full frame

Looks like a dream shot!the flowers have added a different perspective to the image.Despite the conditions,this is a sharp image.Majestic shot.Good work

Your tiger luck is back :). I liked the composition. The eye contact is great. Better light would have enhanced the image further. Look forward to more in the series. Thanks for sharing.

It is always good to see tiger in bandipur. The light appears to be very low. Including the legs and less space at the top would have been even better. Eye contact is nice. Thanks for sharing.

Nice eye contact Praveen. The flowers add character to the image. Including the legs at the bottom would have been nice. How is the noise performance of the 7D beyond ISO 800?

Bibhav I have tried up to 1600 only and showed very less noise, i will experiment more and provide details.
