Crested Bunting

HI all,

Posting a crested bunting, taken around Pune. This bird eluded me for long time. I only had few glimpses in past couple of years. But looks like my luck has changed and in last few outings, I got some decent pictures of this beautiful bird. Taken with 7D + 300/f4 + 1.4x, f7.1, iso 800, Handheld. C & C are most welcome. I wish complete feet were visible but I still like. Cropped little bit from all sides.

Beautiful bird. The eye contact is nice. The plain green background enhances the image further. I still have to photograph this one :(. Nicely captured. Thanks for sharing.

Nice low angle. What was the shutter speed? It would have been good to see the feet, but it is not a major issue. Thanks for sharing.

Hi guys thanks a lot for looking. Mrudul, I was on the same boat just few days back. I guess everyone in and around pune has clicked crested bunting. Now me looking for female :). Sbyasachi I dont remember the ss. This was taken from vehicle as bird was sitting on a wall. BG is a distant hill illuminated by early morning light. Yeah I guess it can take little more sharpness but unfortunately i didnt had access to ps or gimp which offers controlled sharpening like usm etc. this was processed in photofilter, which offers fixed amount of sharpening, every time one hits the sharpen button :(.
