Satish,
Where was this photographed?

The shutter speed was pretty low due to the low light. It appears that the bird was in shade. You need to compose keeping in mind the difference in brightness of the areas. With the black body of the birds occupying a small portion of the frame, and a brighter background occupying large portion of the frame you have to be careful with your exposure. A positive exposure compensation has to be given (when you are shooting in AV mode) so that the dark areas are correctly exposed.

A slight head turn towards you would have enhanced the eye contact. Including the tail feathers would have been good. The copyright text ought to be discreet, else it will take away attention from the subject. Thanks for sharing.

Cheers,

I agree, placing the bird a little higher in the frame would be good. What focal length were you using? You could have zoomed out a bit more to include the tail in full. Thanks for sharing.

Including the tail would have been good here. A bit of positive exposure compensation would have exposed the blacks better. Thanks for sharing.
