This lapwing is shot at Mangalajodi, a place near Tangi in Khurda District, which is a part of the world Famous Ramsar Site CHILIKA. Mangalajodi is famous because with the help and guidance of Mr.N.K.Bhujabal, of WILDORISSA the poacher villagers are now converted to conservationists who do patrolling regularly with the forest department. The comittee "Mahavir Pakhi Surakshya Samiti" has got the award for conservation last year. The bird congregation is amazing...and i will send in the photographs on regular basis.

Satya,
I like this image. It depicts the environment nicely. The aperture of 7.1 has helped in imparting sufficient depth of field to cover the body as well as the head.

The Mahavir Pakshi Surakhsya Samiti is doing a fabulous job under Mr. Bhujabal's leadership. It is a model case study for others to emulate. We need more people like this in different parts of India.
