It rained heavily on the 2nd Oct'10 evening at Bandipur forest, the forest was completely flooded. There was no sighting of any animals, we reached a water hole and sighted a herd of elephants, bathing in the water, few having soil bath and this one had a complete package in the Spa;) including rubbing her belly on the soil. It was nice to see this behavior. I could not get the first few images while the herd was in water as I had the 500mm, later I connected the wide angle lens and took few shots.

I like the behaviour captured. The Pose looks nice. Would have liked some more space on the right. The light seems to be pretty low. Thanks for sharing.

I liked the greenery. The sitting pose is nice. Wish the elephant in the centre was moving away. It is good you used ISO 3200, don't see much noise because of it. Thanks for sharing.

How big was the herd? It often becomes difficult to isolate one from the others. Nice behaviour. The dust and mud bath is a good way of keeping their skin clean. Thanks for sharing.

Cheers,

Sabyasachi there were ~10-12 elephants including two calves, not in frame.
