It is nice and sharp. I like the background colours. Wish they had extended to the entire background. The eye contact is nice. A vertical would have looked good as well. Thanks for sharing.

This is close :). The eye contact and the details are good. The green colour of the leaves in the background look nice. I think reducing the saturation a bit would be good. I agree a vertical would have worked as well. Thanks for sharing.

A natural perch would have been great. Why ISO 500? I would prefer not to use the intermediate ISOs and in this case due to the low shutter speed would have preferred to use ISO 800. I agree that a vertical would have been nice. However, that would have also shown more of the rod. Thanks for sharing.

NIce shot. Lovely details. Would have liked more DoF, but the SS was quite low already. Agree that a vertical would look good too.
