The composition is nice, wish you had more details on the bird. Why is the bg dark?

I agree with Praveen. This is a bit dark for my taste. Not knowing how much of crop this is, I can only suggest that when a bird has its back towards us, it is better to use a narrow aperture so that both the head and tail is in focus. Also, the Sigma lens is sharper if you stop down by a stop ie. as compared to the widest aperture of f6.3 stopping it down to f9 would be good. Ofcourse, You wont get the light to shoot in f9 all the time.

Nice eye contact. The low angle looks good. I liked the composition. Some more brightness would enhance the image further. Thanks for sharing.
