The eye contact is good. Perch is nice. Background is nicely diffused. According to Birds of South Asia the cocked tail is a typical pose.

Male Indian Black Robin: Saxicoloides fulicatus

Description from Birds of South Asia, The Ripley Guide, Pamela C. Rasmussen & John C. Anderton

A dark, lanky chat with long black (typically cocked) tail and dark chestnut vent. Males of all races have otherwise glossy blue-black underparts and white shoulder-flash. Female is brownish-grey above and greyer below. Juvenile like female but darker, with slightly mottled throat.

Occurs: Resident throughout subcontinent south of Himalayas, from Indus Valley (Pakistan) to W Bengal and N Bangladesh, and south to Sri Lanka; generally below 1000m, reaching 1800m in Peninsular hills.

Habits: Bold, often perching on roofs and verandas; but mainly terrestrial, often cocking tail over head. Takes many termites and ants. Breeds Dec-Sept, varying within region (Mar-Jun and Aug-Sep in Sri Lanka); series of short, rushed, variable, somewhat descending strophes comprised of a flurry of energetic, thin, shrill but pleasant chips, most notes broad bandwidth, simple unslurred strokes varied by an occasional two-element note.

Cheers,
Sabyasachi

The vertical composition looks good. The open beak is a plus. Nice behaviour captured. Thanks for sharing.

Sabyasachi, thanks for the detailed information.
