A lovely bird. The eye contact is fine. The shutter speed was low. Using some form of support (tripod, monopod etc) might have enhanced the image better. I feel a horizontal orientation would have been better than a nearly square image. Knocking off the top portion might be a good idea. However, that would mean a bigger crop. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful bird and lovely colors, this is a female. Looks like it was too far, difficult to compose, yet a nice catch.
