Painted Stork Immature

Photographed this at Ranganathittu a few months back. I clicked this at the last moment, when the boat was about to pass him. Would have liked it to be placed a bit more to the right.

Canon 50D, 100-400mm L IS USM, ISO 400, 1/1000, f5.6, hand held, full frame.

The painted stork is resting. Looks like an old man. I agree that slightly to the right would have been better. Thanks for sharing.

Yes this a Juvenile and looks quite relaxed, however once eye is watching you:). There is loss of details on the belly area, did you try reducing highlights to recover details?

Nice eye contact. A -1/3 Exposure compensation would have been good here. The 3 white birds in the background distract a bit, but difficult in Ranganathittu to avoid them as they are everywhere. The resting pose looks nice. Thanks for sharing.
