This image was created in December 2009 at the Keoladeo Bird Sanctuary at Bharatpur. It was late afternoon with very low and directional lighting.

Canon EOS 1DIII with a EF 500mm f4 lens and a 1.4XTC.
ISO 800, f6.3 1/1600s

The image is slightly cropped and processed in Lightroom3 with slight slight white balancing but trying to retain the warmth of the late afternoon light, noise reduction, curves adjustment and sharpening.

Nice action captured Gautam. The composition is nice, the catch is quite a big one, but I am sure it can just swallow in no time.

It must have been a treat watching the heron swallow such a big catch. Nice side on profile with eye contact and depth of field covering the entire bird and fish. Thanks for sharing.
