Shot in Coorg. This is a funnel web spider (Genus: Agelenopsis) in its home (well lets call it funnel ;))
I have intentionally used a wide aperture (to blur the FG) with flash (to illuminate the subject and whiten the FG)in this image. Will post an image at a higher DOF next so that you can compare...

Canon EOS 1000D, Canon 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM
SS 1/60 (Flash fired at -1 Compensation)
f/2.8
ISO 400

Good shot. Nice use of limited DOF here. Built-in flash, right?

Yes Abhishek, I used the built in flash. Will post one at f/5.6 to show the different effect.

Nice use of shallow depth of field. This does help in concentrating the attention on the spider. The details are good. Thanks for sharing.

Good attempt. I wish you had a higher shutter speed. You should have used ISO 800 here.
