Which do you find more appealing? You can find one shot at f/2.8 here http://indiawilds.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5377

Canon EOS 1000D, Canon 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM
SS 1/100 (Flash fired at -1 Compensation)
f/5.6
ISO 800

Comments and critiques welcome....

This is one is better in my opinion as the web and the subject are detailed. Dew drop add to the effect and flash is much better employed.

This image brings out the details in the web and highlights the dew drops. I won't say which image is better, as both the images display different compositions. Thanks for sharing.

I guess these shots are not full frame?

Am wondering, in the same lighting condition increase in one stop in ISO between the two images produces such difference? Ie. One stop increase in ISO resulted in 2 stop increase in aperture and shutter speed increasing from 1/60 to 1/120. The previous image was at ISO 400, f2.8 and 1/60. Raising the ISO to 800 would have given you f4 at 1/60, or f5.6 at 1/30. How the shutter speed increased to 1/100?

A further narrow aperture in this case, would have been even better. Thanks for sharing.

Cheers,
Sabyasachi

Sabyasachi, both are full frame images as far as i remember. Im on a laptop which doesnt have a RAW processor so cant check now. The shutter speed anomaly could be due to the point i chose for metering the exposure. Im not sure how that happened. Could be because of the flash as well. I'll mail u the RAWs. do let me know.
