One of the most beautiful and colorful of flycatchers - one which is equally elusive too. Made a decent shot after waiting for a year or so, especially as I wanted it on a perch. Wish the light was better for better DoF and bird a little more in open. I could have cloned the twig in the BG but decided to maintain it. Hope to see them this season again.

Clicked in Pune with EOS 7D with 400mm f/5.6L @ F/5.6, 1/100, ISO 500. C&C most welcome!

Lovely bird.A narrower aperture would have been better.Framing is nice. Was it handheld?

Yet, it was shot hand-held. Light was poor and hence couldn't bump up the aperture

Nice image. The eye contact and the perch is nice. The background is nicely diffused.

It is good you maintained the branch in the background, we at IndiaWilds encourage posting images without cloning. That way we can look as how we can best compose the image in the field by excluding the distractions as much as possible.

Where in Pune was this photographed? Thanks for sharing.

Cute bird. A higher shutter speed would have been better. I would have pushed up the ISO atleast to 800. Thanks for sharing.

Cheers,
