The vertical composition looks good. Nice perch and eye contact. The light seems harsh. Giving a slight -ve exposure would have helped. The leaves on the top frame the bird nicely. You could have used a further narrower aperture. Thanks for sharing.

Nice perch,eye contact .Dark background added to the image.Ya,giving slight -ve exposure,as said by Mrudul,along with some reduction of highlights would have helped.TFS
